Heretic Dreams - New Video Premiere!

"Religion, Just Like Superstition...Is The Weed, That Strangles Reason"

The unholy eloquence of ‘Heretic Dreams’ invites listeners to worship at the alter of their own imaginations taking them on a magical journey through the heart of a non believer with percussive lyrical patterns winding through a sludgy musical rock garden of driving anthem riffs and anathema sentiment.

Tonight is a full moon, so we invite you to enjoy our new video and dream like a heretic in...
'The Sacred Mood'

Mick Murphy #3 Best Metal Guitarists!

Congrats to Mick for being named #3 in OC Weekly's "10 Best Metal Guitarists" today just under Jeff Hannemann of Slayer (#2) and the legendary Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath (#1).

Quite an honor!

3. Mick Murphy - My Ruin, Chevy Metal
This talented, multi instrumentalist and songwriter, for the LA based rock/metal band My Ruin (featuring Murphy's wife of a decade, Tairrie B) is a guitar virtuoso that is one of LA's best-kept secrets in terms of shredders. He is not afraid about being in a now guitar centric rock band, with fuzzy distorted rhythms and riffs as thick as his sideburns. Murphy's talent with a guitar is evident once you seem him live, in often-cathartic performances. His influences are worn on his sleeve and often shirt, and consist of everything from punk, classic rock, hard rock and stoner metal. Murphy's true talent can be heard and seen in My Ruin, where his approach has added more of a old school rock based, doomy, classic metal sound to Mrs. Murphy's lyrics. In a 2009 article, Guitar Player Magazine wrote that Murphy is "One of the most ferocious and creative hard rock guitarists you'll ever hear underground, above ground or bouncing off satellites." Aside from being a song writer and the guitarist of My Ruin, Murphy also lends his guitar playing abilities to the 70s hard rock/metal cover band, Chevy Metal, featuring Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters.

Moriendo Renascor - New Video Premiere!

We're excited to debut our new video for the heart pumping 'Moriendo Renascor'
 which translates to...

 "In Death, I Am Reborn"

'Moriendo Renascor' is an up tempo wall of riffs with elements of stoner metal and vintage California hardcore. Like a phoenix rising from the fiery ash and bone this track boasts fuzzy guitars sizzling over driving drums, infernal bass and ferocious vocals with reflective lyrics of rebirth and renewal.

In honor of this day!

It's the day before our new album is officially released so in honor of June 10th, I decided to dig out a couple never before seen photographs from the My Ruin vault. These were taken by my longtime friend and photographer Paul Harries in 1999 when I was in London shooting the video for 'Terror' (which he directed). We shot some footage for what was to be a second video that same day but in the end, we decided not to release it. Looking back at an old photo can bring so many memories both good and bad depending on how you view it within your mind at the time. Years ago this photo would have reminded me of a person I used to know who I wrote the song 'June 10th' about but today, it simply reminds me of me -- the woman formerly known as Miss B.

I've written and recorded 8 albums with My Ruin over the years and each one holds a special place in my heart. I've grown as an artist but have always stayed true to myself and my art. Being in the music industry you open yourself up to having to deal with an endless parade of countless assholes, disappointments and misery. There have been many days that I've wanted to walk away because it has never been easy.

That being said -- I've never been in it for the money or the fame, I've been in it for the music and this is why I remain. I am also blessed to have a husband and guitar player who feels the same. There would be no My Ruin without the music of Mick Murphy. I spill the blood with my lyrics but he is the soul of the band and the champion of our independent spirit.

Tomorrow 'The Sacred Mood' will be available worldwide and I hope those of you who are family, friends and fans of our band will continue to show us your rock love and support the music we make by purchasing a copy of our new album via iTunes & Amazon and thank you.
