New BGD Collection Coming Soon!

(Self Portrait)

For those who have written asking...

Yes, I have closed my online store for the moment. I am currently busy putting the finishing touches on my new Blasphemous Girl Designs collection which I will be debuting very soon, so stay tuned for the big re-launch because you do not want to miss this one!
I have spent the past 2 months quietly creating the last of my dark magic for the year in the form of custom sacred adornments for your fingers, neck and soul along with 4 new and invoking signature oil & solid perfume limited edition sets with scents inspired by songs on our new album  'Heretic Dreams', 'Moriendo Renascor', 'Hour Of The Wolf' & 'Insomniac Moon'. I have also brought back to life a blood red personal favorite scent of mine 'Sacred Mood' which has been requested by many who missed out on it last time.

NOTE: Many of my custom pieces and perfumes sell out very fast and sometimes within hours of my launch. If you would like to be a part of the inner circle, which means 1 hour advance notice via Facebook and/or email of my collection live, prior to it going public, please drop me a personal message with your name, email and page link to and you will be notified.

Thank you again to all of you who have continued to support and inspire me creatively from the music of
My Ruin to the art of BGD.

Love, Mrs M

Mick Murphy with Chevy Metal - On The Road Video!

Click the link below and check out this killer new video featuring Mick with Chevy Metal via Rolling Stone Magazine documenting their time spent in Chile back in April of this year. Also, learn about the rad new project Mick has recently recorded with Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters called Birds of Satan coming soon!

Video & Interview:
Rolling Stone Magazine

When Dave Grohl started playing with Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins needed a way to keep busy, so he teamed up with longtime friends Wiley Hodgden and Mick Murphy for the cover band Chevy Metal. Started, in Hawkins' words, "as a goof," Chevy Metal has evolved to become first a regular live act, and now, Hawkins and his Chevy Metal mates have written and recorded new material as the Birds of Satan, a new project that features a nine and a half-minute title track co-written with Grohl and Murphy.

Tairrie B #4 Female Metal Singers!

Look who just got named #4 in the list of Top 10 Female Metal Singers in OC Weekly today just under Dinah Cancer of 45 Grave(#3), Doro Pesch of Doro & Warlock (#2) and the infamous Wendy O Williams of The Plasmatics (#1).

In great company!

"Unlike punk rock, for some reason the world of heavy metal has not always been the most accepting of women, unless they are scantily clad or topless dancing in the background. However, this post aims to prove to all of the closed minded chauvinists that women can rock just as hard as men, if not harder. The rise of women among metal and hard rock music continues on to our delight, despite the fact that many females still face an uphill battle in a mostly male dominated genre. But, that didn't stop some of the front women listed below from become pioneering figures in deathrock, power metal, metalcore, and even death metal. We now present our list of the Top 10 Female Metal Singers." - Alex Distefano

4. Tairrie B. (My Ruin)
Before she was the front woman for Southern-tinged LA-based rockers My Ruin, Tairrie B.'s career can be traced back to 1990, when she recorded a rap album for Eazy-E, entitled The Power of a Woman. Shortly after this album, she decided to pursue a different sound, and formed the alternative metal band Manhole, which later morphed into the darker Tura Satana, and eventually My Ruin, in 1999. Today, My Ruin's music is a head banger friendly blend Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Type O Negative and Corrosion of Conformity with whiskey, weed, aggression and religious themes and imagery. The band also features Tairrie's husband and musical partner, guitar virtuoso Mick Murphy. Tairrie has always had an intense voice, which just screamed for metal, reminiscent of a female Phil Anselmo mixed with Bon Scott. Tairrie's confrontational lyrics often attack hypocrisy, sexism and misogyny, while remaining personal, and sometimes religious in nature.

Mick Murphy #3 Best Metal Guitarists!

Congrats to Mick for being named #3 in OC Weekly's "10 Best Metal Guitarists" today just under Jeff Hannemann of Slayer (#2) and the legendary Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath (#1).

Quite an honor!

3. Mick Murphy - My Ruin, Chevy Metal
This talented, multi instrumentalist and songwriter, for the LA based rock/metal band My Ruin (featuring Murphy's wife of a decade, Tairrie B) is a guitar virtuoso that is one of LA's best-kept secrets in terms of shredders. He is not afraid about being in a now guitar centric rock band, with fuzzy distorted rhythms and riffs as thick as his sideburns. Murphy's talent with a guitar is evident once you seem him live, in often-cathartic performances. His influences are worn on his sleeve and often shirt, and consist of everything from punk, classic rock, hard rock and stoner metal. Murphy's true talent can be heard and seen in My Ruin, where his approach has added more of a old school rock based, doomy, classic metal sound to Mrs. Murphy's lyrics. In a 2009 article, Guitar Player Magazine wrote that Murphy is "One of the most ferocious and creative hard rock guitarists you'll ever hear underground, above ground or bouncing off satellites." Aside from being a song writer and the guitarist of My Ruin, Murphy also lends his guitar playing abilities to the 70s hard rock/metal cover band, Chevy Metal, featuring Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters.

Moriendo Renascor - New Video Premiere!

We're excited to debut our new video for the heart pumping 'Moriendo Renascor'
 which translates to...

 "In Death, I Am Reborn"

'Moriendo Renascor' is an up tempo wall of riffs with elements of stoner metal and vintage California hardcore. Like a phoenix rising from the fiery ash and bone this track boasts fuzzy guitars sizzling over driving drums, infernal bass and ferocious vocals with reflective lyrics of rebirth and renewal.

In honor of this day!

It's the day before our new album is officially released so in honor of June 10th, I decided to dig out a couple never before seen photographs from the My Ruin vault. These were taken by my longtime friend and photographer Paul Harries in 1999 when I was in London shooting the video for 'Terror' (which he directed). We shot some footage for what was to be a second video that same day but in the end, we decided not to release it. Looking back at an old photo can bring so many memories both good and bad depending on how you view it within your mind at the time. Years ago this photo would have reminded me of a person I used to know who I wrote the song 'June 10th' about but today, it simply reminds me of me -- the woman formerly known as Miss B.

I've written and recorded 8 albums with My Ruin over the years and each one holds a special place in my heart. I've grown as an artist but have always stayed true to myself and my art. Being in the music industry you open yourself up to having to deal with an endless parade of countless assholes, disappointments and misery. There have been many days that I've wanted to walk away because it has never been easy.

That being said -- I've never been in it for the money or the fame, I've been in it for the music and this is why I remain. I am also blessed to have a husband and guitar player who feels the same. There would be no My Ruin without the music of Mick Murphy. I spill the blood with my lyrics but he is the soul of the band and the champion of our independent spirit.

Tomorrow 'The Sacred Mood' will be available worldwide and I hope those of you who are family, friends and fans of our band will continue to show us your rock love and support the music we make by purchasing a copy of our new album via iTunes & Amazon and thank you.

Triple Moon & New Site Design!

Over the weekend we did a little revamp to our site to go with the release of our new album. Thank you to our good friends Matt Adamson and Kayleigh Brookes for their technical and artistic talents which they have both lent us while working with me behind the scenes recently.

The above art piece is taken from the new hard cover art & lyric book I am currently designing with Kayleigh to accompany the album. It is called 'Triple Moon' and represents the three of us together as well as me alone. This symbol is found in many Neo Pagan and Wiccan traditions as a symbol of the Goddess. The first crescent represents the waxing phase of the moon -- new beginnings, new life, and rejuvenation. The center circle is symbolic of the full moon -- the time when magic is at its most potent and powerful. Finally, the last crescent represents the waning moon -- a time to do banishing magic and to send things away. The sacred heart between my hands represents our band as a whole. Our music and soul. It is made of metal and along with the Mi Ruina ring which I designed for Seventh Circle Artworks, the only other real element in the illustration which represents belief and dedication. The heart hangs on the wall in our home among the many other ex-votos I have collected over time. Each one has it's own story and meaning behind it. The nails which surround the heart represent the thirteen years of My Ruin on the inside, tough and unbreakable.

Hope you like our new design and please take a moment to check out both of their pages on the links below and give them a big "like". Two very inspiring independent artists I am proud call part of our extended family in the UK and who are helping me bring my vision to life with

'The Sacred Mood'.

The Sacred Mood - New Album & Cover Art!

Dear Friends,

We are proud to unveil the cover art for our upcoming studio album

'The Sacred Mood'

which we have set to release worldwide on

June 11, 2013

TuneCore, Bandcamp, iTunes & Amazon.

As a follow up to our 2011 album ‘A Southern Revelation’, we returned to Soundtrack Black Studio in the hills of East Tennessee to once again work with friend and studio owner Joel Stooksbury, who mixed, engineered and co produced the new album along with My Ruin guitarist Mick Murphy.

‘The Sacred Mood’ is a subtle reinvention for My Ruin. In an industry that is ever changing, we’re not a band who pays attention to the current trends. We’ve found our sound and we simply do what we do while staying true to our roots. I think our fans appreciate our integrity and we appreciate our fans. We offered the last album as a free download where people could donate to the band if they wanted and it was a great success but we are taking a different approach with our new album which we are self releasing once again. Unfortunately, we have learned over time that most record labels are not for us and we seem to do better on our own as a DIY independent band which is what we always have been, today more than ever with our eighth album ‘The Sacred Mood’ as a testament to our staying power.

The atmosphere of the new album is heavily drenched in the heat of the South where it was recorded and fueled by insomnia filled nights in Los Angeles where it was written. The cover was designed with this in mind by a talented Manchester, UK based artist & illustrator named Kayleigh Brookes who also happens to be a longtime fan of the band. The art that goes with the album is very different than anything we’ve previously done before. We decided to use real elements of nature mixed with iconic illustrations to create something unique to My Ruin that would go with the otherworldly language of the lyrics. We wanted an ethereal image for the cover and chose the moon for the background because we felt it evoked the mood of the album as a whole. The image was actually inspired by a photograph which was taken by Tor Burrows who has worked with me creating music videos for My Ruin’s last 2 albums and is currently working on a teaser commercial for the album which we plan on debuting in April. I really enjoy working with Tor on our videos and being that I have always worked alone when designing the artwork for many of our previous recordings, I thought it would be an interesting change to collaborate with someone on this side of things.

We are releasing ‘The Sacred Mood’ digitally and designing a unique hardcover print & e-book to accompany it. Included in the book will be photographic images and illustrations of the band, lyrics, musings, a few short stories and original art pieces. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time and our new album has given me the perfect opportunity to make it happen. We're looking forward to sharing it with the fans of our band who have continued to follow us over the years and those who are just discovering our music for the first time.

BGD Mailing & Thank You!

Attention Blasphemous Girls & Guys!

I've been meaning to let everyone know that all the orders from my online store have been shipped and they are on their way! My apologies for the delay but there is a lot going on behind the scenes with the set up for our new album at the moment. This was my biggest launch yet and with all the solid perfumes, oils, jewelry + My Ruin merch that sold out, the wrapping and packaging it all was pretty time consuming as I wanted everything to be beautiful upon its arrival and your opening. As many of you know, the personal touch is important to me when it comes to my designs. That being said, please make sure to drop me a line to my inbox to let me know your packages got to you all safely and post some photos for me with your new BGD! I can't wait to see them all and thank you again for the continued support and rock love for my music and art.

Beauty Fiend Live!

We've just come across a hot rockin video in our vault which was filmed live at the infamous Mean Fiddler in London, England on our Brutal Language Tour' back in 2006. The venue has since been demolished so this is a wonderful memory to have caught on film with so many friends and familiar faces in the front row.

Were YOU there?

Hello Twenty Thirteen!

Happy New Year and thank you to everyone who bought a Blasphemous Girl Design in twenty twelve. Looking back, created 5 collections of wearable art for the individual at heart that I'm really proud of. The last of which launched in December with great success. I feel very blessed knowing that we have some incredible fans of our band who never cease to amaze us with their undying rock love and support of my art as well as our music.

Goodbye Twenty Twelve!

Last night I laid to rest my old soul. Let the past bury it's dead and friendships which have turned cold. I can't say that I was sad to see twenty twelve go. This has been a strange year filled with many highs and lows. The highlight for me was shared with Mick Murphy & Luciano Ferrea recording the new My Ruin album with Joel Stooksbury at his Soundtrack Black Studio in Tennessee. By far my fondest memory, favorite people and what I'm most looking forward to bringing to life together in twenty thirteen.

My resolution is my mood.
To keep it sacred and start anew.
