Dear Friends

After a brief hiccup following our 'Southern ℜevelation' tour we are happy to announce that we're back in the studio rehearsing again and would like to [re]introduce our new drummer and long time friend Marcelo Palomino. Many of you will be familiar with Celo from his days we spent together in Manhole/Tura Satana but he also toured with My Ruin in 1999 and again 2008 when we recorded our live DVD 'Alive On The Other Side'. Our most recent collaboration has been behind the scenes for My Ruin's latest video 'Tennessee Elegy' which he filmed and co directed with me & Tor Burrows.

It's great to have Celo back with us. It feels like home. At the moment he's getting familiar with our last two albums and Mick, Luciano & I are all looking forward to playing live with him soon and shooting our next video! Here's a live video we shot during the last show he played with us a few years ago in Los Angeles.

Video Premiere Delayed!

Dear Friends,

Due to circumstances beyond our control, our new video premiere for

"❄TEℕℕESSEE EℒEGY❄

has been postponed until tomorrow. It seems all the power in our home/neighborhood went out late last night because of the crazy windstorm in Los Angeles, Thanks mother nature! We are currently at our studio on our trusty laptop as we are unable to access our home office computer at the moment which has our files. We promise our new video will be online as soon as possible, in the meantime here are a few more teaser shots for you and we apologize for the delay.

'Tennessee Elegy' - Video Premiere Announcement!

We are excited to announce the premiere of our new video for the song:

❄TEℕℕESSEE EℒEGY❄

from our upcoming album 'A Southern ℜevelation' which will take place here on Thursday, December 1st! Our beautiful new video, which features Luciano Ferrea on bass and drummer Isaac Lee who is the latest edition to the Mi Ruina familia, was co directed by yours truly along with former [Manhole, Tura Satana & My Ruin] drummer Marcelo Palomino of MFP Film Productions and Tor Burrows of Notorious Design. Marcelo also filmed the video and handled all the camera work while the editing and special effects were done by Tor Burrows who created My Ruin’s previous two videos for ‘Long Dark Night’ and ‘Excommunicated’ from our 2010 album ‘Ghosts and Good Stories’.

Being that we pride ourselves on being a DIY band and have no label supporting us, we really had no budget for this video so it was truly a labor of love and faith in friendships that helped to create ‘Tennessee Elegy’ and there was a lot of team work behind the scenes. Marcelo has been a close friend of mine for many years and was also my original drummer when I started out in my first band Manhole in the early 90’s. We’ve wanted to collaborate on a video for My Ruin for a while but it never seemed to be the right time until now. Celo is based in LA and we had a lot of fun shooting the video with him. Tor is based in the UK and there is the 8 hour time difference so we have learned to utilize Skype and Dropbox as our way of working together. She is a longtime fan turned friend who really understands our band and music deeply. Her attention to detail in bringing our songs to life by the use of interesting effects and iconic imagery with me is truly inspiring. The videos we create together feel very sacred and timeless which is also how we like to think of our albums.

Shot on a green screen in My Ruin’s rehearsal studio and deep in the heart of East LA at Evergreen cemetery, ‘Tennessee Elegy’ is a cold hard rocking lament that pays homage to the winter month in which ‘A Southern ℜevelation’ was recorded and sets the temperature for the new album with a cathartic release and therapeutic vent of anguish.
